Shashank Chinchli works with TATA Consultancy Services, Mumbai. He has been working with WordPress and other CMSes like Drupal. Till date, he hasn’t rolled out any plugins or developed a theme, but likes to fork, leverage and utilise the existing ones as per the need. He spends most of his time, breaking – forking WordPress Plugins and themes and that’s how he’s learnt so much!
He has been always passionate for PL-SQL,Java,JSP,J2EE. But being in the Web-Design Industry, he works with PHP, jQuery, CSS3 and HTML5. He often misses DAO, Servlets, when not fiddling with WordPress.
Below is the conversation we had with him :
What are your thoughts about WordPress community in India?
It is in a nascent stage! ‘WordPress = Blog‘ is the standard impression. There is a need for proper outreach, for making people understand what WordPress is, how it works and how its existing functionality can be leveraged. Only then we can expect others to start using it and contribute to the WP community.
I would like to share WordPress India FB group : https://www.facebook.com/groups/wphub/. This was formed immediately after WordCamp Mumbai 2012, as some of us felt the need to build and grow a local kommunity (say community) of WordPress Lovers, Poets, Developers, Users or whatever else you may want to be called.
What are you going to speak on ?
I would be speaking on Child Theming -Understanding the concept of Parent and Child themes and how they work ! Keeping in mind the brilliance of child theming, I will also discuss some common issues related to them.
What are you most looking forward to during WordCamp Baroda 2013?
I am looking forward to meet WordPress centric guys -designers & developers, WP enthusiasts and less of sponsors, social-media guys. (No offence to them, but WP-MUM experience speaks!)
I would be more interested in great learning, meaningful and lively discussions revolving just around WordPress.
In short, Scope in : WordPress!!
Why have you decided to be a part of WordCamp Baroda 2013?
Everyone has their own experience & expertise to share, and that’s the reason I love meeting new people! Hope that will suffice why I’m in WC-Baroda 2013, would like to meet you guys!
Who in WordPress community inspires you the most? Why?
None in specific. But yes all those who contribute to WordPress, in the form of amazing themes/plugins, hooks that ease out or at least help you out in some or other way.
A one line advice you’d like to give to everyone related to WordPress
“I’m whatever u can make out of me 🙂 Your turn, experience it!”
Looking forward to this session and saurabh’s session more than the others, not because they are friends, but because these are some really interesting topics.
